He! My Name is Thomas A. McKibben AKA A Far Walking Blue Turtle, or just Blue Turtle to my friends. Perhaps you are wondering what that big word "Tulpehauken" means. Well it is a modernized version of an old Lenape word Tulpe'hakin, which means Turtle Island. Turtle Island is what we of the people call this beautiful place where we live.
Perhaps you are wondering why I show the whole globe instead of just America. Well once my Great Grandmother pointed out that the waters do not separate the Earth, they only rest upon it and what is earth on one side of the waters is that same earth on the other. Thus to call this bit of earth here Turtle Island, than for the sake of unity, all this Earth is Turtle Island. And how appropriate this is, for our Earth is but a small green and blue island amidst a vast array of cold darkness.
I am a Wolf Song Peace Elder a descendant of Unami Lenape heritage. In the interest of bringing peace, one must have unity and harmony. Unity and harmony can not come as long as there is diversity in peoples thinking. So let us think one earth, one people, all earthlings.
